Hey yall, I was born and raised in Mississippi and have always loved music. Music has always been a part of my lifemainly introduced by my mom. She taught me good music is good music no matter what genre. Whether it be the Blues from the Delta, Rock-n-roll out of Memphis, the unmistakable sound that came out of Muscle Shoals, or back-porch pickin-- Ive always been surrounded by great music. B.B. King, Bobby Blue Bland, Credence Clearwater, Elvis, my sisters Zep albums, or moms guitarthere was always music filling our home. Im told my first concert was George Jones at Bars Ferry Landing in Tupelo when I was 6. While at Ripley High School, I discovered our local country station, the now defunct WTXI. I went in the station one December day and was asking about a job. Ten minutes later the guy told me to go with him that he needed help covering the annual Ripley Christmas Parade. Talk about being thrown into the fire we interviewed the dance team, fire chief and anyone else we could get to talk on mic.
After graduating, I decided to answer a want ad from the paper to be a board operator in Tupelo at WTUP. I got it! I ran American Legion baseball and Nascar. A few months later I was doing overnights on WWZD across the hall. Then I moved to nights and feel in love with radio. I did a call-in show called CL3. (Crying, loving, laughing or leaving) I then realized that I LOVE PEOPLE. I loved listening to their stories I figured out that could actually affect someones day by just being their friend and playing their song.
I then moved to Paducah, KY and worked at WKYQ. The light of my life was born on August 8, 1998, my daughter Tristen. We then moved to Athens, GA I worked unloading 18-wheelers at a Dollar General and part-time at WNGC. Yall know the rest; I did mornings on WNGC before the big fish. I love what I do doing mid-days from 10-2 that allows me to do my second full-time jobbeing the best mommy I can be.
